Greetings from NYC where I have ever inention of updating you with images from my time here and some of the portrait sessions & a wedding I have done here but I have not had the time, please forgive me and make sure to check back soon for I do have a lot of great images to share with you!

Today, I lead our 4-8 graders on a field trip to New School University and the Finance Museum on Wall Street. It was a great day, but hot, tons of walking and my feet are killing me!

Congratulations to Stephanie H for winning at random this weeks edition of “What is it Wednesday?”

This weeks image was taken on Central Park West, it was a stuffed cockroach on a car club – the purpose to keep people from stealing the car! I had a good laugh every time I passed it and just had to take a picture of it!

Greetings everyone,
I have had a full schedule pretty much for the past five days with not much down time to blog, but I do have some blog post in mind, so hopefully soon I will get some time to update my blog.

But, I have been looking out for some new “what is it Wednesday?” pictures while I am in NYC and I think this weeks is awesome!

Ok, so I have been having trouble finding a good connection to internet today so hopefully everything will get posted right this time.

Greetings to you from the Big Apple where it is HOT HOT HOT! Today was like 101 degrees, no joke! And I got to spend half of it driving around Manhattan and Yonkers NYC dropping off stuff and grocery shopping for the masses, followed by cooking a yummy dinner for the mission team I am hosting from Atlanta! Yep Atlanta has followed me to the big city! The group that is with me is hilarious, always looking for opportunities to encourage, serve and have a great time! Today, I have not laughed as hard as I did for a very long time! Thanks 12Stone! I can’t wait to see what the next five weeks hold of living with mission teams! I will blog more about this week later.

Anyways, we have had a great week, so image below is from the week, but for this weeks “what is it Wednesday” leave your comments below on thoughts on this image, why is it important to me? What does it say to you? What could I do better next time? Any comments posted are entered into this weeks drawing for a free “I LOVE NYC shirt”. Sorry i did not post this earlier, but what is it wednesday is taking a break this week.

I am packing my bags to spend the next 38 days in New York City….more to come on my adventures in a youth hostel

OneLight Workshop with Zack Arias Decatur, GA

Yesterday, I attended my first photography skills workshop. This year, I had a professional development goal of attending one workshop on an area that I know I have tons of room to grow in which I knew was lighting. I had been following this photographer online for a while whose name is Zack Arias, but did not discover until recently his studio is only four minutes from my house. I could not believe his studio is close to my house combine that with all the good things I have read about the workshop called One Light, I signed up for it.

I had a blast all sixteen hours we were at the workshop! Yep, sixteen hours in one day of learning. Zack is a great teacher and I left feeling so much enabled to work with my flashes to a greater degree to bring my clients even better portraits! Below are a few of the images I shot at the workshop, they are all straight out of my camera minus converting to black and white and a few contract adjustments. I can not wait to practice more on my own!

For the record, I did nothing to her eyes in this image, I only converted it to black and white in Lightroom
