Lovely Tulips

I LOVE flowers, my favorite is Gerber Daises (in case anyone ever wants to get me flowers), but I also love tulips. Perhaps my love of tulips came from living in Michigan or perhaps it was my doctrine class (haha theology connection TULIP/5pt Calvinism) but for whatever reason I love their simplicity and color! Currently, I am also falling in love with learning about other art forms and using textures to create various of my photographs. I am testing out various fine art papers and will soon be moving into another art media that I will only reveal after I attempt it a few times, assuming it works

, but in the mean time the image above is the result of photographing tulips on my desk then applying this awesome texture layer.

On January 9, I was searching the internet for some great hats for kids as I wanted to use some in portraits, but just could not find any I liked. And moments later, I received an email that said “I am a fiber artist based in Grant Park, here in Atlanta. I specialize in newborn cocoons, and other baby accessories. I would like some professional photos of my props made to be included in my new website. My cocoons make excellent photo props and can be used over and over again. I also make unique and colorful little hats for babies…” Christi. That email sure did answer prayers to find fun hats to use for portraits.

Christi and I met in person last week and hit it off and I received a bag full of amazing children’s hats and one for myself, which I love! That afternoon, I called up my friend Tina and asked to borrow her daughter to be my hat model and we had tons of fun. Below are some of the portraits with various textures applied to them. Christi loves textures and I do as well so it made for a perfect time to try out some new textures I got recently! There will be more images of various hats coming soon, for now here are some fun images.
