Bobbi Jo Brooks Photography bio picture

About Me!

Hi, I'm Bobbi Jo!  Welcome to my blog.  Writing is one of my least favorite things in the world and I speak through photographs, but here are a few things about me:

  1. I am passionate about photography.  Actually, I even say that photography is my love language.  Yes, silly, I know, but it is true! With a camera in my hand, I love to explore the world, capturing life and beauty as they unfold before my lens, which is an extension of my eyes.  Then I greatly enjoy sharing images I capture with others.
  2. I love to travel, exploring each unique place and culture I visit.  I often do not stay put for too long. So, please, if you have an interest in hiring me for your wedding or portrait session and you do not live in Atlanta, do not let that hinder you from considering me.  My travel agent is on speed dial! Check out how I spend my summers in New York City - www.mtwandoe.blogspot.com
  3. With my love for travel, I also enjoy international foods.  I even love to prepare international food for large groups.  Chicken curry is my favorite dish to share with others.  A few weeks ago, I made it for sixty people and it was yummy! If you like international food as well, perhaps we should plan your wedding or portrait session over your favorite international dish!
  4. I am down to earth and approachable.  I also love details and want to make each wedding and portrait session unique, reflecting back your personality, interests, and special moments of life.  I look forward to getting to know each of my clients.  Oftentimes clients become friends, which is a treat!
  5. Photo of me taken by my dear friend Jana Barker!

What is it Wednesday?

Ok so forgive the photo quality in this weeks post, but regardless I am still posting this picture!

Starting last week I began changing up “What is it Wednesday’s” as you may have noticed. There are three reasons for this
1. I want to share images with you that mean something to me, the woman behind this blog and the lens.
2. I love conversation! I want to engage in conversation with you via comments or messages (free free to email or use fb messages) and nothing like a photograph to help spark those conversations.
3. I love hearing YOUR perspective on images and hopefully through some up coming posts in the weeks ahead, I will be able to challenge you to see a variety of things differently such as light, a subject, composition or perhaps even show you a new perspective on who I am.

This weeks photo is more straight forward than images in the past. I know a good number of people out there who will be able to add comments to this post…. so don’t be shy comment away!

Here are a few questions to get our conversation started:
Where was this photo taken?
Why was it taken?
Why is this important to me, Bobbi Jo Brooks?
Why are photographs important to you?

Comment below your answers to the questions above. All those who post comments will be put into a drawing and one winner will be selected at random on Monday for a surprise gift (note the gift is different than anything I have given away on this blog thus far)! The winner will be announced here on my blog Monday evening.

*Do note this is a different gift than anything I have given away on this blog thus far!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

March 31, 2010 - 4:07 pm cHarley & sharon - your picture was taken at your art show at your church! It is important because you wanted all of the girls in to wear sari's for you love the colors of Indian clothing. And your very 1st art show is hanging behind you! it reminds you of your trip to India, which you enjoyed very much! My daughter took very nice pictures on her trip to India and your dress is very pretty on you. You can look back at the pictures and remember the people you took picture of and what you did over there to help people out. and some of this pictures you sold and even had a few published, that is also really nice!

April 8, 2010 - 6:28 pm Mignon( the tallest one in the photo above) - I am so sad to have missed this "What is it Wednesday"! This photo means so much to me also! Love you friend!
