Sometimes it is the simple things in life that capture me. While spending the afternoon with MacKenzie, my friends ten year old daughter, I came across this tricycle. MacKenzie and I were running through their backyard taking portraits of her modeling hats for me and I saw this tricycle and it caused to stop where I was, study it and of course take this photograph.
It is a simple old tricycle, but it caught my eye and got me to stop what I was doing and study it. Looking at the image now, reminds me that I need to stop, look around at the simple things and enjoy them for we are all going from one thing to the next. But to also take time to stop and enjoy the amazing people the Lord has placed in my life. For sometimes, those people might not be near enough to spend quality time with them anymore or I maybe off another adventure in New York.
On Saturday, I was able to enjoy something as simple running around in my friends backyard spending time with her daughter, who I might like to add, has such a fun perspective on life as a ten year old. MacKenzie and I took tons of photos together, I began introducing her to viewing light from various perspectives and continued to explore her interest in drawing by taking a trip to an art store. While at the art store, we looked at all the different types of drawing pencils and paper, as well as looking at various types of paint and canvas available. She is an artist in the works, I just know it! We left the store with a new drawing tablet and some metallic colored pencils, I can not wait to see what she draws up!
So what catches your eye? What are the simple things present in your every day life that you often over look in the hustle and bustle of the day? Who around you could you stop what ever next scheduled task is and sit down with for a good conversation over a cup of coffee?

This is an image of MacKenzie telling me stories about her closest friends. I love the smile on her face! The hat she is wearing is designed and crafted by a local Atlanta artist, Christi P.
Please forgive all the grammatical errors in this post, I am a photographer, not a writer![]()
